Toyota Suspends Sale of Certain Models

Toyota announced today that it was suspending the sale and production of certain Toyota models in the US resulting from the stemming issues Toyota is having with the unintended accleration in their vehicles.

As part of the plan, Toyota said it was halting production at five manufacturing facilities for the week of Feb. 1 "to assess and coordinate activities." There are 2.3 million vehicles involved in the recall, which was announced last week.

The plants that appear to be affected by this halt in production include plants in Indiana, Kentucky, Texas and Canada. As of right now the model affected by the halt are as follows:

2009-2010 RAV4, the 2009-2010 Corolla, the 2009-2010 Matrix, the 2005-2010 Avalon, the 2007-2010 Camry, the 2010 Highlander, the 2007-2010 Tundra and the 2008-2010 Sequoia

As of right now, there is no indication how long this halted production will last, or if additional models are going to be affected. An article on this latest Toyota news can be found here.
